Bill Gates scoffs at humanitarian project. Rather than contribute to efforts to bring the disadvantaged into the information age, Bill Gates would rather stand back and criticize other's efforts to do so. MIT with corporate sponsors are working to provide equipment for the disadvantaged and developing nations through a project known as the "$100 computer" initiative. To that end they should be applauded. If you believe a rising tide lifts all boats then empowering the less fortunate to travel the "information highway" will provide spillover benefits worldwide. This is a good thing for all of us, even Bill Gates. Perhaps Bill Gates time would be better spent contributing to the project rather than criticizing it. Any and all efforts to reduce the information divide ought to be commended.
